Table Rock Lake

We chose to take the scenic route 7 through Arkansas.  It added about a half an hour to our drive, but we got some beautiful vistas along the road, and at one point, we even pulled over to see the Arkansas Grand Canyon, just outside of Jasper.

Then we crossed into Missouri, and as we approached Branson, we broke out the video camera.  You can see the toll the trip has taken on the family….

After arriving at the Tribesman resort and checking in, we immediately hit the water.  We swam off the dock for a little bit and then quickly decided to rent a boat.  For 2 hours, we enjoyed boating around Table Rock.  The front desk had talked us into renting a tube for an extra $10, so we threw the kids out of the boat (ok, not really, but it was tempting…) and put them on the tube.

When we were done on the lake, we checked out 3 of the pools on the property (I think there are 5 total).  The kids swam in the indoor pool, and Dave and I went to find a place away from the kids to catch a few rays.  After dinner, there was a hot tub, which was amazing to sit in after so many days of driving.  Dave and I had even picked up a bottle of the local Table Rock Red Wine and enjoyed our last night of vacation together.

The next day, we had to drive home.

It was kind of fun to look back at everything we’d done in such short time,

But all good things must come to an end, but truth be told, I kinda missed Kansas….
