The Lawrence Busker Festival

Our family had a great time at the Lawrence Busker Festival this year.  This 3-day event is fabulous family fun.  5 “stages” in downtown Lawrence with 16 scheduled performers means there’s sure to be something for everyone.  We really enjoyed “Peter Rabbit” the bucket drummer at the 8th street stage:

Then a bit later and one block north, we were entranced by the aerial artists, Voler,  a Kansas City based performance ensemble.  They mentioned they have classes.  That might be the next thing I have to learn….WOW!

Then our day was capped with the fabulous Mama Lou, American Strong Woman, whom Sophie had remembered from our last trip to Busker Fest a few years ago.  She was lucky enough to get called from the audience to help out Mama Lou:

But the real excitement came at the end of her show, when she hand-picked David from the audience to be her evil nemesis.  Little did she know what she was getting herself into.  David hammed it up, as only David can do:

So if you live nearby, and you missed it this year, be sure to watch the Busker Fest website for the date of the next one.  It might be sooner than you think!
