It’s Raining in Baltimore

We arrived in Baltimore to rain and clouds, but we didn’t let it stop our parade.  Our hotel was really cool….it’s actually an old bank building.  Upon arrival, Daphne went in to the bathroom, and then came right back out, declaring that the door wouldn’t close.  Not knowing she had pushed in the lock button, I pulled it closed from the outside and said “yeah, it does”…..then I tried to open the door back up.  So, 2 minutes in the room, and already I have to call down to the front desk to fix my goof.  Daphne was so sweet, she let her sisters and Dad believe it had been all her fault, and they teased her about it, but she maintained her silence….such a good girl!  🙂  Before heading out for the evening, we went to the bottom floor to see the old bank vault.  We then trekked out to Federal Hill and climbed to the top to enjoy the beautiful views before heading to Regi’s for Crab cakes at the suggestion of NCECA President and Baltimore local, Deb Bedwell.  It was all thoroughly delightful.  Regi’s Crab Cakes were more like lump crab meat stuck together with some kind of miracle…absolutely delicious!  Despite the drizzle, we had a fabulous first night in Charm City.  And if Deb’s suggestions for Friday were as good as what we did Thursday night, we’re in for a LOT of fun in short time!  Oh, while on Federal Hill, we tried to put together a short video clip to recount our experiences thus far….not terribly successful on that mission, but it is amusing…..or at least it might make you understand the factors leading to me losing my mind and taking odd pictures……
