Ahh, Real Genius…. easily my favorite movie of all time.  I become supergeek when anyone mentions the movie or quotes a line from it.  (usually this entails me quoting the response line) August 7th marks the 25th anniversary of the movie, so I jumped at the chance to figure out something fun to do at the store to celebrate.  I’ve been brainstorming for about a month and have come up with a few fun things that we’ll be doing at iCafe and MacXprts-Kansas over the next three weeks.  Stay tuned to our website, we’ll be releasing more information about special events associated with the movie as the anniversary date gets closer.
To kick off the celebration, we have a little sweepstakes…a “free to play” sweepstakes (you have to run the words together and say it kind of fast so that it sounds like you’re saying frito-lay sweepstakes).  Simply download this form, fill it out and mail it back, scan and e-mail it, or bring it to the store in person.  You will notice on the form that there is an entry blank for your 1985 time capsule item.  This is just for fun, but I thought it would be interesting and nostalgic for people to go through their accumulations of stuff and find something from 1985 and bring it in for us to display during the week of the movie, as if we had actually unearthed a time capsule from 1985.  It’s not a requirement for entry, but I think it would be really bodacious (yeah, that’s a 1985 original!).  As my way of saying thank you for participating, I’ll even give you a coupon for $10 off a 1TB Time Capsule or $25 off a 2TB Time Capsule good through August 7th.
